Birth certificates via DHA, vaccines in Nabidh, nurseries under KHDA, and visas that often also pass through GDRFA Dubai. Check the official notice.
Dubai is where most English guides quietly assume you live. Use them for the city, not for the country. The health record is Nabidh. Early years and private schools report to KHDA. A sponsor on a Dubai visa should expect GDRFA in the newborn file alongside ICP.
- Birth certificate
- DHA’s digital certificate is AED 70, ready in one working day, in Arabic or English. Apply with UAE PASS. Call 800 342 and confirm the fee before you pay.
- 120 days
- Residents have 120 days from the birth to arrange the certificate, passport, Emirates ID and visa. A DHA or Department of Health stamp stands in for a Ministry of Health attestation.
- School fees, 2026–27
- No increase in private school fees. Early childhood centres permitted by KHDA are exempt from licence renewal fees, fines, and Dubai Municipality market fees.

How long do I have to get a residence visa for a baby born in Dubai?
Plan around 120 days from the birth, then read the current schedule on ICP and GDRFA. Confirm the date on the portal. Check the official notice.
What is the school age cut-off in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for 2026–27?
New children starting in August or September must reach the age by 31 December. A class comment is not the cut-off. Check the official notice.
What is KHDA actually telling me about a Dubai school or nursery?
KHDA rates Dubai private schools. It licenses nurseries and does not publish a nursery star rating. The licence is a floor, not the decision.
