Are car seats actually required in the UAE?

Yes. A child restraint is required. Do not take an age quoted in a group as the law without opening the Ministry of Interior rule.

The first ride home is the one parents improvise, and it is the one that matters. Fit a seat that matches the baby’s current weight before discharge. Rear-facing for a newborn is the manufacturers’ instruction, which is the instruction worth following while you confirm the legal cutoff.

If you buy secondhand from a family that is leaving, reject any seat with a crack, a missing base, or an expiry date moulded into the shell that has passed. A cheap new seat beats a luxury one that has been in a shunt.

A parent guide, not a government notice. Confirm deadlines on the official portal before you book or pay.
