Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi
Department of Health birth certificates, Malaffi records, and ADEK for private schools. This is not a Dubai checklist with the names swapped.
Parents in the capital lose days because a blog said DHA. The Department of Health issues the birth certificate. Malaffi holds the vaccines. Private schools are under ADEK. The visa is still federal.
- Nurseries and schools
- 233 nurseries and 220 private schools, across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
- Added in that count
- Seven nurseries, 929 seats: Chubby Cheeks on Al Reem Island, Kids Fantasy in Madinat Zayed, Aflaj in Khalifa City, Baynounah in Al Hisn, Kids Academy in Al Bateen, Redwood in Mohamed Bin Zayed City, and Redwood on Yas Island. Two schools, 3,610 seats: Premium International in Al Ain, and Yasmina American in Khalifa City.
- Birth certificate
- Issued by the Department of Health, not DHA. Vaccines sit in Malaffi. The federal 120-day window for the certificate, passport, Emirates ID and visa still applies.

Answers
Who issues a birth certificate in Abu Dhabi?
The Department of Health issues the Abu Dhabi birth certificate, not DHA. A Dubai checklist will send you to the wrong building. Check the official notice.
What is the school age cut-off in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for 2026–27?
New children starting in August or September must reach the age by 31 December. A class comment is not the cut-off. Check the official notice.
What is KHDA actually telling me about a Dubai school or nursery?
KHDA rates Dubai private schools. It licenses nurseries and does not publish a nursery star rating. The licence is a floor, not the decision.
